Recently, KUNLUN Tires received test data from local dealers in real-world road conditions.

Test Configuration

The data are about the LD870 tires of the KUNLUN Tires sub-brand LUAO, with the size 295/80R22.5.

The truck used to collect the test data was a SCANIA P420, 6 years old, with a test load range of 22-24 tons and a 4x2x2 drive.

During the test, the truck was driven on three routes, Klang > Kelantan; Klang > Johor; Klang > Northern.

The test truck was equipped with a total of four 295/80R22.5 LUAO LD870 tires with the tire mounting positions LHS OUTER, LHS INNER, RHS INNER, RHS OUTER.

Each tire will be read on four dates, for each of the following parameters: Odometer reading (km), RTD (mm), Air Pressure (psi), KM travelled from fitment date, Total wear (tread depth, mm), Average KM per 1mm tread wear, Projection total 1st life (balance RTD = 3mm).

Data Review

Looking at the results of the four tires 4 months after installation, the 295/80R22.5 LUAO LD870 excels in terms of wear resistance and tire pressure. The driver in charge of this test said this tyre has better grip going up slope along hilly road condition (east coast line)

Total wear of the LD870 increases slowly at an unimaginable rate, indicating that it is a very durable tire. It is capable of providing very long driving range.

Even after 4 months of trekking, the RTD remained at about 14mm and the Air Pressure was at least 100pis, making it ideal for heavy cargo transport.

Since the KT870 and LD870 are the same tire,  if you need a tire with ultra-high wear resistance and good load-bearing capacity, then choosing the LD870 or KT870 is a good choice.
